Infinity War' Pulls Record $630 Million Worldwide in Opening Weekend — Avengers

Audiences assembled worldwide as Disney and Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War broke both the domestic opening weekend box office record and worldwide opening record with a massive $250 million domestically and $630 million worldwide.

The figures are not adjusted for rising ticket prices or other inflationary factors. This crushes The Fate of the Furious record-setting opening weekend total of $541 million.

Infinity War, the nineteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), brings together the superhero team "the Avengers" and their battle against evil villain Thanos. Even "Captain America: Civil War", based on a comic book that leads to the death of Captain America, was afraid of the notion. Marquand, the cheeky scamp, actually telegraphed the reveal with his choice of suit at the Infinity War premiere (which you can see below). There's a very good chance Disney crosses $1 billion by EOD today, in which case it will have taken them 117 days to reach that feat. "'Infinity War' will effectively reverse the down trending box office we've seen so far this year and get the industry on track setting the stage for what could be a big summer". And if the Spider-Verse heroes can't stop him, the whole universe will fall to his twisted will! "Infinity War" carries an 87 percent on the Tomatometer, which means over the course of 10 years, the MCU still doesn't have a film that's been deemed "rotten" on the review aggregator site - even though this two-hour sleep aid came mighty close. However if the collections come close to the 20 crore mark, sky would be the limit for this superhero franchise.

"Infinity War" cost $300 million to make, according to Bloomberg Intelligence, and many tens of millions more to market.

Robert Downey Jr dons the red and gold metal suit once again as Iron Man; Benedict Cumberbatch is Doctor Strange; Scarlett Johansson is back as Black Widow; and Australia's Chris Hemsworth is Thor. We'll just have to wait and see what happens in the coming weeks.

Infinity War has continued its dominance in South Korea, wiping out competition during its first weekend.
