James becomes youngest to score 30K points

LeBron James made a lot of headlines on Tuesday night after becoming just the seventh player in NBA history to reach 30,000 points in his career.

But in the end on Tuesday James racked up two fewer points than the youngest player on court - LaMarcus Aldridge who scored 30 in what became Cleveland's 10th loss in 13 games.

The six players to pass the 30,000 point mark are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (38,387), Karl Malone (36,928), Kobe Bryant (33,643), Michael Jordan (32,292), Wilt Chamberlain (31,419) and Dirk Nowitzki (30,837).

So he had a message for "the chosen one", and he sent it to him via Twitter. "He wants to be the best, and when he goes out and plays, that's what you see".

The Dallas Mavericks' Nowitzki is currently ahead of James at sixth on the NBA's all-time scoring list.

Many were quick to point out that James was congratulating himself without having actually earning that record. If he maintained that average, it would take another four-and-a-half seasons to reach the scoring pinnacle. But before that, there are more milestones to collect.

In the Cavaliers' last matchup, they were thoroughly outplayed by the Oklahoma City Thunder, 148-124. This is a special moment.

Cleveland (27-18) is third in the Eastern Conference standings, six games behind first-place Boston. This basketball version of a scoring cycle shows off one of James' most subtle features: a beautiful combination between longevity and a truly explosive ceiling. In 2015 first-year Head Coach David Blatt was able to stay in his job as rumors swirled over the team's ability to gel. Although he is just 7 shy points away, (he is sitting at 29,993), he goes on to say congrats on Instagram with a picture of himself in his high school days. Kevin Durant added 14 points and 14 assists for Golden State before getting his league-leading fourth ejection for arguing a call late in the contest.

"Wanna be one of the first to Congratulate you on this accomplishment/achievement tonight that you'll reach!"

Jae Crowder was an efficient 4-of-6 from the floor, including 3-of-4 from deep, to finish with 13 points and four boards.

James averaged 33.6 points, 12.0 rebounds and 10.0 assists while shooting.564 from the field and.387 from three-point range against the Warriors.

"Lebron I'm honored to be apart of yet another historic night for you".

"They have not quit betting the Cavaliers, I can tell you that", William Hill director of trading Nick Bogdanovich said, sharing that the house continues to profit on Cavs games. "When I walk into the 30,000-point club they're going to look at me like, 'What are you doing here?' I ain't supposed to be there".
