It's Official: Henrikh Mkhitaryan Agrees to Move to Arsenal

Manchester United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has agreed to join Arsenal, with Alexis Sanchez going in the opposite direction in a straight swap.

Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper said Sanchez had been pictured arriving at United's Carrington training complex to complete his move from the London club, widely expected to be finalised on Monday.

Working on the assumption that Man United get the deal done for Alexis Sanchez, how would the forward fit into Jose Mourinho's plans? "He's an Arsenal player, he's not my player, there's no point in me speaking about something that may or may not happen".

Arsenal wanted Mkhitaryan in exchange and the Armenian has joined on a long-term contract.

City were initially the front-runners in the race to sign Sanchez from Arsenal but the move fell apart because of the size of the transfer fee involved and Sanchez's wage demands.

"So, congratulations for both of them".

"I always believe that if players are to adapt quickly, it depends on their quality, and it depends if they are nice people".

He said: 'The fact is we're still in a relegation battle, we're not alone now, we're a little bit less isolated than we were some weeks and months ago and we're happy, of course, about that.

There are already murmurs at Manchester United that Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola has begun to grumble that his player's £200,000 per week won't reflect his status in the side should Sanchez arrive on double that amount.

As for his new employers, they will be eager to tap into the Chilean's appeal in the South American market, as United have lacked a marquee name to spread their message in that quarter of the soccer planet in recent years. Should the Dutchman eventually find a pen that works then his buyout clause will be €25m, but that almost encourages rather than discourages interest.

"We need to have a look at the games since they changed their manager. He's a good player", Sherwood said on talkSPORT. "If we do one now, in the summer it is three minus one".
