Nokia 6 to get Android 8.0 Oreo update, beta now available

HMD Global, the company behind the Nokia smartphones, is planning to launch a new Nokia 9 smartphone in 2018. This is because the Nokia 9 has recently been spotted at the FCC (via Slashleaks; via Android Police) where some of its potential specs have been revealed.

There's been some discussion elsewhere about the use of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835, referring to its age (about a year old, now) and noting that the 845 has now been released.

Nokia's next flagship smartphone, Nokia 9 just cleared the FCC. This is acceptable, considering the amount of money these flagship phones cost. The listing reveals that Nokia 9 will feature a 5.5-inch OLED display manufactured by LG but the resolution and aspect ratio are not known yet. The smartphone runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU. The Geekbench listing reveals that the smartphone will be backed by a 6GB of RAM.

The FCC listing didn't mention RAM, but listed the Nokia 9's internal storage as a 128GB UFS 2.1 Samsung module. IBT reported last week that one of these cameras could be equipped with a telephoto lens that allows x2 optical zoom. Well, this is because they aren't available, which makes your guess regarding the existence of the Nokia 9 as good as ours. To recall, Nokia 9 received 3C certification a couple of days ago. But the other noteworthy change is the move to an OLED screen, which usually translates to deeper blacks and power savings. It's impossible to tell from this picture if the phone's back will be glass or metal. The upcoming device is most likely to have a 3250mAh huge battery. In the box, you would get a charger, USB cable and headphones, a reader manual and much more. Coming to the render, one could expect a metallic unibody as well.
