JJ Watt has tibial plateau fracture, reportedly out for season

On the first drive of the game, Watt rushed Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith when he fell to the ground in immediate pain.

And yet, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has not only staved off any notion that rookie Patrick Mahomes is the answer for the present, but has spearheaded the attack of the league's only unbeaten team.

In Miami Gardens, Fla., Jay Cutler finally silenced the boobirds with a fourth-quarter touchdown pass, and the Dolphins overcame another dismal offensive showing. Three plays later, Prescott picked his way through the Green Bay secondary to put the Cowboys ahead 31-28 with 1:13 remaining.

It's hard not to feel for the Texans, who also lost Watt to a broken leg he suffered in the Chiefs game.

The Texans cut their deficit when Watson threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Fuller in the third quarter. Hill padded the lead when he returned the punt. The second was scored by safety Barry Church on a 51-yard return. Smith completed 29-of-37 passes for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Wentz was 21 of 30 for 304 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. A lot of our game plan was around those two.

For his 26-game tenure with the Bears, Houston had 70 tackles and nine sacks. But the Texans are now 2-3, tied with the Tennessee Titans and the Indianapolis Colts for second in the AFC South (behind the 3-2 Jacksonville Jaguars).

The loss of Mercilus is the latest setback to Houston's linebackers after veteran middle linebacker Brian Cushing was suspended for 10 games on September 13 for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. That likely won't sit well with Texans fans, especially with how exciting the Week 4 game was for the team. The Dolphins' defense had six sacks.

This touchdown-saving tackle in the second quarter vs. the Chiefs had NBC commentator Chris Collinsworth fired up. He finished up his college career with the best season of his career with 657 yards for eight touchdowns.

The Chiefs led 3-0 early after a 35-yard field goal by Harrison Butker on their first drive.

Watt missed most of last season as well. Whether or not they can fix up their act this time around is still up in the air. Every single successful third down in that half came on a pass from Smith.
