He also urged pilgrims to abide by their assigned schedule for performing the sacred rituals.

Saudi Arabia gives each country a quota of places with 1,000 spots per one million people.

The annual event - Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca - is extremely important for any and every able-bodied Muslim who can afford it.

The ritual, which sees more than two millions stand at the mount until sunset on the ninth day of the Islamic calendar month of Dhu'l-Hijjah, is regarded to be the epitome of the Hajj pilgrimage and emulates the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammed.

Earlier, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has borne the expenses of sacrificial animal (Hady) for all 5,000 pilgrims hosted within the King's Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah this year.

But in 2004 the post was replaced with a wall due to the amount of people taking part.

"Hosting Haj each year is an honour and a great responsibility for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one we hold dear to our hearts", Saudi Minister of Culture and Information Awwad Alawwad said in a statement on Thursday.

Some 90,000 Iranians have returned to haj after boycotting past year amid a diplomatic rift between Tehran and Riyadh, which are both vying for power and influence in the region.

Two deadly incidents in 2015 had brought about those concerns.

Dr Ibrahim Kana, Head of Medical Team, said Nigeria had become the second after Pakistan to computerise health matters of all its pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. Ibu Mariah Marghani Muhammad is joining more than 220,000 pilgrims from Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country.

To date, almost 1,5-million pilgrims have already descended on the Holy City of Mecca in anticipation of the Hajj which takes place between August 30 to September 4.

Some 769 pilgrims died in that stampede, according to Saudi official figures.

"We hope that Allah will forgive our sins, and we hope to have a new start with our God", Khaled Ahmed, a 47-year-old pilgrim from Egypt, told the Associated Press news agency. Riyadh and three of its allies, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Egypt, severed their diplomatic ties and transport links with Qatar on June 5, accusing it of sponsoring terrorism.
