Up till now, Apple Watch devices had to rely on a paired iPhone to get connected to the internet. This innovation means the case for Series 3 is the same size as the case for Series 2. Series 1 Apple Watch is still alive and the price has been slashed down to $249. However, there's no word yet on specific battery life numbers.

There are rumours that the Apple Watch could launch at the same time as the iPhone 8 at an event on 12 September.
