Liverpool reject Barca's £118m bid for Coutinho

On Wednesday, Barca general manager Pep Segura claimed the club was closing in on Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund's Ousmane Dembele.

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho, who is a target for Barcelona, has not recovered from a back injury and will miss Saturday's Premier League match against Crystal Palace, manager Juergen Klopp said.

Liverpool have rejected a third bid from Barcelona, in the region of €125m (£114m), for the unsettled Brazil international Philippe Coutinho.

"You can be sure that [if Dembele were to return] we'd tell him quite clearly that you can't act like that and that his behaviour is damaging the team".

Dortmund suspended the 20-year-old indefinitely for skipping training last week after they rejected a bid from Barcelona, who view the young France international as a possible replacement for Neymar.

The offer, reportedly £113m rising to £118m with add-ons, was instantly turned down by the Reds, who are adamant the player is not for sale. It is understood that Arsenal have been negotiating with Monaco for his signature.

England star Alli netted 18 times and created seven goals in 35 games to help the north London side finish as runners-up behind Chelsea in the title race.

"We are not in the best moment".

"Why? Because the market is where clubs like us want to sign top quality players".

The teenage sensation will play no part for Monaco this weekend, having been left out of Leonardo Jardim's matchday squad for Friday's trip to Metz. They would be good to have here. We are discussing their deals but do not know when it will be done'.

"I will never talk about something I spoke about with a player". Coutinho clearly isn't happy at the club and if he was forced to stay he is unlikely to replicate his former exceptional performances. "We already showed we are ready again". But behind the posturing, it looks difficult for both deals to go through.

"It's not about him, it's about an overall much, much, much bigger picture - a change of course for Southampton".
