Chances for Rain, Storms Continue into the Weekend

As we move into the Friday, meteorologists say there is the potential for unsettled weather not only Friday night, but off and on through the weekend. There may be a few strong storms each afternoon with the threat of heavy downpours with localized flooding.

Highs on Saturday will top out in the upper 70s to around 80 and be in similar territory on Sunday.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

More showers and thunderstorms are possible overnight into Thursday, when highs should reach the mid-80s. Lows in the low 70s. High: 96. Wind: S 10-15 miles per hour.

Rain today will continue in a sort of on-again off-again way, with a shower forecast for every second hour.

Mostly cloudy with scattered showers, possible t-storm, muggy.

Sunday, the upper level trough responsible for these daily rain chances finally manages to work its way off to the east. Highs are going to be warm near 90 for most areas. Expect scattered showers and t-storms, one round perhaps in the morning, then a lull, then a second round in the afternoon/evening. Partly sunny, with a high near 83.

Wed: High: 86 Low: 65 Partly cloudy. There will be a 20-30 percent chance of scattered thundershowers to thunderstorms across the region through the afternoon.

No need to cancel any Friday night plans as we will stay dry!

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely mainly before 7 a.m.
